Come make something with your hands.

We're a nonprofit teaching studio on 150 acres near the river in Stockton, Alabama. Four studios: hand-building tables and a kiln, easels and a long table, a needlework table with the hoops laid out, and a black box theater. Eleven working artists teach here, and one of them pulls up a chair beside you. Beginners start every week.

One credit, any class.

One credit gets you a seat in an eligible regular class. A single class credit is $80, or two credits are $130. Active members may buy the four-class pack for $120; membership is $30 a year. Credits don't expire. Pottery clay is available at the studio for $30 per 25-pound block.

About 40 minutes from Mobile or Fairhope and 25 from Bay Minette, on 150 acres in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. Turn in off Highway 59 and the house is right there behind its fence, pines standing on both sides.
