Bring the whole class to Riverhouse

A half day in the studios on 150 acres in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta: hands in wet clay, paint on paper, thread through cloth. The tables are laid out before the bus turns in, and every child carries home the thing they made.

What the day includes

Hands in the materials

Two studios in one morning, with a working artist sitting at the table in each. A child pushes a thumb into wet clay, lays paint on paper, or pulls a thread through cloth. Nobody watches from the side.

Room for your group

We take up to 28 children at a time, in groups small enough for the artist to reach every pair of hands. Tell us the ages and we set the morning to suit them.

Time outside

Lunch can be outdoors when the weather is kind, and there’s room for a walk if your teachers want to take the group out. Everyone stays together.

What a visit costs

$36 for each child

That covers both studios, the clay, the paint, the thread, and the piece each child takes home. We invoice once we’ve agreed a day, so asking costs you nothing.

If cost is what’s in the way, say so. We can cover up to 3 children in every group of 14. It’s a normal thing to ask, and it stays between us.

Tell us about your group

Send us the shape of your visit and we’ll write back within two working days.

Who is asking

The teacher or group leader we should write back to.

About the visit

Type the dates or date range you are considering. A window is fine; you do not need an exact day yet.

A half day fits up to 28 children. Tell us the number you expect; above 28 we would talk about splitting the class across two visits.

Anything we should set up

Are the children bringing lunch, and is there anything we should know about it?

Anything we should set up so every child can take part.

We can cover up to 3 children in every group of 14. Asking changes nothing else about your visit.

We do not ask for children’s names, birthdays, or school records. Read our privacy policy.

Sending this does not book a date and there is nothing to pay. We will write back within two working days.
